Townend Farm is ideally situated on the route of the A174 coast road between the picturesque coastal towns of Saltburn and Whitby.

Many other popular locations can be reached either by bus , which stops conveniently right on our doorstep, or by a short car journey, such as the North Yorkshire Steam Railway, Goathland (of Heartbeat fame), visit Redcar the site used in the film "Atonement" also has its own racecourse, other attractions include Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, local museums and Rosedale Abbey. Castle Howard and the beautiful & historic city of York are just over an hour away. Runswick Bay, Staithes & Sandsend near Whitby are both popular with fishermen & beachcombers in search of fossils. Saltburn by the Sea with its newly refurbished pier and sweeping cove, is a regular attraction for surfers and families alike.
